Fella has spent his whole life in the Orphanage. Papa Louis, the kindly director, is the only family he’s ever known. Brought to the Orphanage as an infant without any ID, there’s no way to know what his real name was or who his parents were. Now, fifteen years later, Papa Louis has given Fella the mysterious paperbook that was the only possession found with him. It is written in pen-writing, which doesn’t exist anymore, and seems to be the diary of Fella’s mother. The paperbook reveals that much of what Fella – and everyone else – believes about their island is a lie. When Papa Louis dies, Fella and his best friend Grebe decide to escape and find out if what his mother wrote in the paperbook about a way off the island is true. The Officiate are soon on to them, though, and they must risk everything for a chance at freedom. This futuristic thriller will keep readers on the edge of their seats!
